William D. Torres, MD has practiced medicine in Richmond, VA for the last 23 years. Dr. Torres is a graduate of Brown University in Providence, RI with a degree in Biology. He earned his medical degree from Brown University Medical School in 1983 and pursued General Surgery/Trauma Internship and Residency training at the Medical College of Virginia (MCV).

Dr. Torres then transitioned to a 15 year career in Emergency Medicine as a Staff Physician at Henrico Doctors’ Hospital in Richmond, VA. During this time, he earned Board Certification in Emergency Medicine and served for several years as an Oral Board Medical Examiner for the Board of Certification in Emergency Medicine for the purpose of assisting to properly certify emergency medicine physicians.

Dr. Torres has dedicated the last several years of his medical career to training for, developing and building up a specialty practice in Aesthetic Medicine, Laser Surgery and Phlebology.

The Aesthetic Medicine practice includes the Contour ThreadLift™ Non-Surgical “face lift,” wrinkle removal with Botox® Cosmetic and Restylane® treatments, permanent laser hair removal and the use of lasers to beautify the skin. Prescription strength skin care products (Obagi® Nu-Derm Skin Restoration System) are also used alone or to compliment other treatments.

The Laser Surgery practice encompasses Cosmetic/Aesthetic Laser procedures to include, facial skin rejuvenation (Laser Genesis), fine line wrinkle removal (Laser Genesis), permanent laser hair removal and laser removal of vascular lesions/veins (Cutera® CoolGlide® Laser.

The practice of Phlebology involves the study and treatment of Venous Diseases, including varicose veins, reticular veins, spider veins and vascular lesions. Dr. Torres uses Sclerotherapy for vein removal of small and larger veins. Dr. Torres is also a provider of EVLT® by Diomed (EndoVenous Laser Treatment) which is used to remove large varicose veins without surgery and without scars. EVLT® is covered by most insurance companies and Medicare.

Dr. Torres is Board Certified in Emergency Medicine. He is a member of the American College of Phlebology and the Richmond Academy of Medicine. Dr. Torres is also a Certified Massage Therapist, providing therapeutic, relaxation and pregnancy full body massage, as well as chair massage.
