Vein clinic Procedures

More than 80 million people in the United States have problems with their veins, the vessels that return blood to the heart once it has circulated through the body. Many people suffering from venous disorders come to phlebologists looking for treatment to either relieve discomfort or improve the visible appearance of these veins.

Veins have one-way valves that help keep blood flowing in the proper direction. If these valves stop functioning the way they are supposed to, blood can flow backwards and pool in the veins, causing them to stretch, becoming more visible at the skin surface and, often, uncomfortable.

These enlarged blood vessels fall into two groups: spider veins and varicose veins. Spider veins are visible on the surface of the skin as red, blue or purple lines. Varicose veins are larger and deeper and often look like bluish bumps under the skin.

Vein Clinics of Virginia and Dr. Torres specialize in treated all types of veins with liquid and foam Sclerotherapy about the legs, ankles and feet.  High grade, medical grade lasers are used for removal of veins (spider veins and medium-sized veins) anywhere above the waist.

Med Spa Procedures

Soft tissue fillers such Restylane® and Perlane® are injected under the skin to "plump up," contour and smooth wrinkles, lines and hollow areas in the face and augment the lips or cheeks for a younger, fuller appearance.

High grade, medical grade lasers are used for permanent laser hair removal and removal of vascular lesions (such as hemangiomas) and veins (spider veins and medium-sized veins) anywhere above the waist.

The Ellman® Dual Frequency Radiofrequency machine uses radiowave technology to painlessly remove moles and skin tags of any size anywhere throughout the body without the need for incisions or stitches.  Pelleve® uses the same radiowave technology to tighten skin about the face, neck and other parts of the body.

The Envy Medical® SilkPeel® machine provides a superior crystal-free/dust-free Microdermabrasion experience for the face, neck and other parts of the body.  SilkPeel® also employs DermalInfusion® technology to infuse medication into the skin during the session to treat a variety of skin conditions.  Currently, we have medications available to treat fine line wrinkles, pigmented areas and acne.

Botox® Cosmetic and Dysport® are used to soften or temporaily eliminate wrinkles about the face.  Additional Med Spa services provided by Dr. Torres include massage therapy, OBAGI® Nu-Derm Skin Care products and Latisse® for longer, thicker eye lashes.

Lipo Center Procedures

Dr. Torres specializes in using a gentle in-office technique for permanent fat removal and body contouring (reshaping) using two sophisticated pieces of equipment.  The VASER® Lipo machine uses ultrasound energy to immediately convert fat to liquid which is then gently removed with a special suction cannula.  The LipoTherme® Laser uses laser energy to melt fat as well.  It also has the capability of tightening the skin from underneath the dermis where the collagen fibers are.  These done in awake, but relaxed patients and are pain-free.
